This project continues along a series of projects in the late 90s and early 2000s when I worked a lot with the paper negative technique. I was draw to this technique for its resemblence to the look of etchings while remaining a purely photographic technique. In this series, I felt it helped give the photographs a weighty quality and looking at the images as I made them I began to think of Frankenstein and the terror and despondency the monster felt at discovering others found him hideous.
These are large scale prints (50 x 60 cm
(20 x 24")) and in very limited editions of only 3 prints each. |
