I find our experience of the body so crucial to our experience of life. The body is at once our greatest glory and our greatest liability. We feel our most remarkable physical sensations because of the great abilities of the body and yet all along this body is actually our weakest link. But perhaps it is more the way the body seems to hold us back that it actually pushes us forward.

As I begin to feel more and more the creeping signs of an aging body--which leave me feeling sometimes discouraged, sometimes distraught--I realize that this sense of the tragic in life may actually be what pushes us to our greatest accomplishments. Regardless, the fact that we live with a more or less clear awarensess of our own immenent demise is heroic. I'm interested in how the simple choices in life can be heroic.
