These are a series of collographs begun in 2000 which is focused on the idea of lines as barriers. The project began as an investigation of outer appearance versus interior reality--the idea being that we present an exterior facade to the world which may often be in strict contradiction with the internal reality. This idea is certainly still contained within these prints but what was originally the idea of a controlled exterior (as represented by the dark, straight lines) hiding an internal turbulence has taken a different slant that sometimes has the prints having more the quality of emprisonment, of labyrinths that seem to have no exit.
